eBay Greasemonkey Script

Posted by Tracy Poff on January 29, 2010

Since I tend to bid on lots of low-priced items, and usually don’t want to bid more than the minimum amount, I went looking for a greasemonkey script to automatically fill in the max bid box for me. The ones I found were non-functional, so I put one together using ideas from the previous one. It can be had at userscripts.org.

Sadly, eBay seems to use different element ids for each currency, so it’ll only work if I’ve added support for auctions in a given currency. This is easy to do, so I’ll be updating it as I come across auctions it doesn’t already work on. Should anyone come across a non-functioning auction, leave a comment pointing it out, and I’ll fix it if possible.

Ebay Redux

Several things, today.

From motorcitygolfshoppe, three orange golf tees:

three orange golf tees

Since the price was under a dollar, the payment processor wouldn’t take payment from these, so I got them free. Nice.

From fiber-cables, a 5m fiber jumper for a penny:

Finally, and best, from lovinit420, a nice copy of Prima’s Madden 2001 strategy guide, also for a penny:

Pretty good for two cents, I think.

Ebay

Posted by Tracy Poff on January 26, 2010

I’ve been keeping myself entertained looking for amusing things on ebay lately, and it hasn’t disappointed. I’ve won several auctions for a penny, so I’m waiting to see what I’ll get. Today, though, I received this:

Hat Parade Religious Playing CardsFor a dime (actually, $0.11) shipped, a set of oval playing cards. The suits are red flowers, purple flowers, red hats, and purple ribbons. They can be ordered elsewhere for a dollar, though it seems they’re out of production now. It’s no wonder, they’re rather poorly made–the backs aren’t all quite the same color, and the printing is full of white patches, as can be seen above. Still, for a dime, I’ll keep it against future need. Hopefully the penny auctions will be less disappointing.
